A 2014 study (Hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) Seed Oil: Analytical and Phytochemical Characterization of the Unsaponifiable Fraction, by S. Montserrat-de la Paz; F. Marín-Aguilar; M. D. García-Giménez; M. A. Fernández-Arche) that analyzed the lipid profile of hemp seed oil and concluded that it is rich in healthy fats and fatty acids.
The abundance of these fatty acids can make the oil an excellent choice for nourishing the skin and protecting it from inflammation, oxidation, and other causes of aging.

The authors of a 2014 article (Plants Used to Treat Skin Diseases - by Nahida Tabassum and Mariya Hamdani) note that topical application of hemp seed oil strengthens the skin and makes it better able to resist infections. The authors also suggest that hemp seed oil may be a useful treatment for a number of skin problems, including: eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, varicose eczema, lichen planus (an inflammatory skin condition), and acne rosacea. , among others. NOTE: As this oil is very sensitive to temperature (it oxidizes very easily), we recommend adding vitamin E before heating it to incorporate it into a cosmetic formula.

SKIN:
As a cosmetic ingredient, Hemp vegetable oil (Bio) has the following properties:

Storage conditions - Vegetable oil very sensitive to oxidation. It can be stored for 6 to 8 months after opening in a cool place (preferably in the refrigerator) in a closed package, protected from air and light.
We recommend adding Vitamin E (0.05 to 0.2% of the total amount of oil to be protected) after opening.

In soap making: Saponifies slowly but produces a stable conditioning lather in soap.
This oil should only be used in a small percentage of base oils, because the high percentage of fatty acids makes it vulnerable to deterioration.

Recommended use levels: Soap: less than 20%; Massage Oil: up to 100%; Other cosmetic products: from 1 to 100%;
