Psoralea corylifolia, commonly known as Babchi or Bakuchi, is an annual herbaceous plant that grows in the plains of India.

Extracted from the seeds of Psoralea corylifolia, Bakuchi oil has long been used in traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese medicines due to its "magical" effects in treating various skin issues.

So much so that Bakuchi is titled "Kustanashini" in Ayurvedic medicine, literally meaning "destroyer of leprosy"!

The plant Psoralea corylifolia Linn. is one of the most popular in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is officially listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.

The plant is of great biological importance and has been widely explored for its (considered "magical") effect against various skin problems, such as psoriasis, leucoderma (vitiligo), and leprosy. 

This plant is also pharmacologically studied for its chemoprotective, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Bakuchi oil is also widely used in hair and scalp products, particularly those promoting hair growth lost due to alopecia.

Bakuchi Oil is a 100% natural ingredient, without chemical treatments. It helps even out skin tone, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, does not cause dryness or irritation, accelerates skin cell regeneration, and helps soothe and treat skin problems.

Benefits of Babchi/Bakuchi oil include:

-Skin: When used primarily from the age of 30, it helps maintain flawless skin: Acts on expression lines and wrinkles (smoothing them), changes in pigmentation, and provides elasticity and firmness to the skin. Preferably use in night creams/products (see PRECAUTIONS).

It is a very potent oil. Dilute Bakuchi oil in another carrier oil before applying. Dilute at a ratio of 1:10 initially to start using, or use under the guidance of a specialist.

PRECAUTIONS:
Although Bakuchi oil is used to help treat skin problems and others, there are certain precautions that cannot be ignored.

Avoid use by pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Avoid exposing treated skin to the sun or UV radiation as it can cause photosensitive reactions.

May cause irritation in more sensitive skin.

Do not use pure: initially dilute at a ratio of 1 part Backuchi to 10 of another carrier oil. 
Do not apply directly to the affected area before conducting a sensitivity test (e.g., apply properly diluted Bakuchi oil on the inner elbow fold and check for adverse reactions within 1 hour. 
Only proceed with application to the treated area if there is no reaction).
