Cera Bellina is an alternative form of beeswax, where its natural fatty acids have been converted into polyglycerol esters, making it an excellent cosmetic ingredient for the production of gel-based cosmetics.

Eliminating the free fatty acid functionalities in beeswax improves its oil retention and gelling capacity.

When used in these gel formulations, Cera Bellina imparts a smooth, silky feel to the skin, creating not only a long-lasting, stable product, but also a soft, luxurious product for skin or hair. With Cera Bellina, all natural plant and vegetable oils can be gelled with relatively low wax concentrations, creating silky smooth gels.

This wax can be used to increase the stability of products by preventing crystallization and helping to keep individual ingredients evenly distributed throughout the finished product.

The hydrophilic properties of Cera Bellina also make it an excellent co-emulsifier, which demonstrates how versatile this wax can be.

Products formulated with Cera Bellina and natural (or synthetic) oils produce remarkably smooth and stable gels.

This characteristic is also beneficial in emulsion products, where its hydrophilic properties allow it to act as a co-emulsifier and its rheology modifying properties give greater stability to the formulation.

In decorative cosmetics, Cera Bellina helps to break down pigment clumps, forming a gel network, thus maintaining an even distribution of ingredients.

Cera Bellina has the unique ability to provide stability by forming non-granular gels from liquid oils.

In addition to the consistency regulating properties characteristic of beeswax, Cera Bellina has the remarkable ability to inhibit crystallization in the oil phase and therefore increase stability by preventing the formation of granules.

This attribute can eliminate the graininess, or grain-of-rice-like effect, that can occur when using Shea and other natural butters in anhydrous (waterless) formulas such as lip balms and lotion bars.

Cera Bellina also greatly improves stability in dispersions using non-soluble components such as organic and inorganic pigments, as well as mineral and polymeric diluents.

It works well with both natural and synthetic oils, making it excellent for working with a wide variety of cosmetics.
